Introduction to Engineering Design is an innovative undergraduate elective course at UC Davis. This hybrid communication and design course is available to all undergraduates in the College of Engineering, regardless of major or class standing. Course objectives are to provide meaningful connections between engineering knowledge, oral communication skills and creative problem-solving through an engaging multidisciplinary team design experience.

Senior design projects are the capstone of the College of Engineering undergraduate experience and the culmination of three quarters of hard work on real-life, client-based projects. Over 180 teams from all eight engineering departments present their projects to industry, alumni, and campus community at the annual Engineering Design Showcase. Students work toward drafting, modeling, prototyping, and testing to complete a product, device, process or software system—on top of an already rigorous curriculum.

Prototyping Labs and Startup Mentorship Accelerator (PLASMA) empowers UC Davis entrepreneurs with the tools, accountability, and community to aggressively grow and master their businesses. It is a 12-week early-stage cohort accelerator for UC Davis undergraduate entrepreneurs.

Develop entrepreneurial and prototyping skills with the Student Startup Center workshops. These workshops teach different technologies such as CAD for 3D Design or Virtual and Augmented Reality.
